Shell sells gas station network in Russia, already known buyer – Forbes

Shell intends to sell a network of gas stations in Russia. Among the potential buyers is called “Lukoil”.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Forbes.
It is reported that the deal has not been signed yet, the parties are in the process of negotiations. Shell intends to sell all gas stations together with the staff, provided that employees will be paid current salaries until the end of the year.

In Russia, Shell has more than 370 gas stations in 28 cities. Some of them belong to the company itself, some operate under the Shell franchise brand. Several players were watching the Shell business, but the closest was to buying Lukoil.

The buyer of the retail network will also receive a plant for the production of lubricants in the city of Torzhok, Tver region, along with debts. Loans to the company, which has a gas station and a plant on its balance sheet, amount to 9 billion rubles.

Earlier it was reported that Shell could sell a stake in a major gas project in Russia to Chinese companies.
